DOGROY interviews Chrissie Killian, director of A Skull in Connemara, in Athlone Little Theatre

DOGROY “legally acquired” this skull from a heckler…

(This interview had to be transcribed for DOGROY by his Mother because he is too busy writing interviews to learn how to read or write.)

Shplain who y'are.

A little old woman from Coosan and member of Athlone Little Theatre. Athlone Little Theatre has been in continuous existence since 1936, bringing on-stage drama to the people of Athlone. Off-stage drama is provided by other bodies in the town.

What’s this Skull in Connemara about?

About murder and mystery and lots of poteen drinking, in the wilds of Connemara. The dialogue and events are, at the same time, funny, mysterious and a little shocking.

Who’s skull are ya usin’ for the play?

The origins of the original skull, used to create the mould, from which 66 skulls were hewn, is lost in the bowels of paperwork in Homestore and More and other importers of cheap halloween glitz.

I can assure you that no known humans or cats were injured in the making of the 66 skulls and other body parts.

When is it on?

Opening on 25th of October (sold out), the play runs nightly until the 1st of November at 8.00 p.m. in Athlone Little Theatre, except Sunday, 27th, when there is a matinee at 3.00 p.m.

Where d’ya buy tickets?

online from www.athlonelittletheatre.ie or Eventbrite

Where d’ya think yer own skull ‘ill end up?

Ultimately, after the earth explodes, I expect it to return to the universe as stardust!

It you’re into DOGROY’s dark stand-up comedy, you will love A Skull in Connemara!
